One Town In Italy Sells Homes For One Dollar

A small town in Italy is following the path of the Homestead law by allowing people to own a home for only a dollar so that they will then renovate the properties and contribute to the local economy. The town known as Gangi is giving the homes for a dollar with one important condition which is that the homeowner must pay to improve the properties. When the United States passed the homestead law, the government demanded that the homesteader work on the property for a certain period of time to make it theirs. After the homestead law was enacted in the United States, it created a huge expansion in the Us economy and resulted in an industrial revolution in the United States. The sale of barbed wire alone was a huge boost to the US economy. Russia is also in the process of rebuilding their economy by enacting a new homestead law that allows the government to give away land in it’s eastern region. Gangi, Italy is counting on growth as well.
