Samaritans Save Elderly Man From Submerged Car

An Elderly man lost control of his car and crashed his car into water. Jim Degan saw the car being submerged and dove into the water and swam toward the car to rescue the driver from the vehicle. Some other men working on a boat jumped into the water soon after. They had difficulty getting the seat belt off him in the water but luckily one of the Samaritans had a knife and could slice the seat belt away. They were able to revive him before the responders arrived on the scene. The police officer that arrived was impressed with the Samaritans by saying “I get paid to do this, they don’t”.
