Mother was devastated when her birthday present she bought for her son was stolen. She had used up her tax refund and did not have any more money. The officer Derek Pratico who came to investigate the robbery, felt bad for her and did not feel it was right for a child to not have birthday presents. He went to Walmart and bought her son a birthday cake, a toy police car and gave his Mom a one hundred dollar gift card to help her get back on her feet.
