Barry White Jr. starts his day teaching with a handshake for each student. His reason for doing handshakes is to create high levels of enthusiasm for learning. Barry said “I’m always pumped up and then we start doing the moves and that brings them excitement and pumps them up for a high-energy class.”
Barry was inspired by Lebron James doing personalized handshakes with his team. Barry said “You see that bond and how close they are. I wanted to bring that feeling into the entire 5th grade.”
