According to the India Tribune, Dharavi’s Covid infection rate dropped drastically with the help of Hydroxychloroquine. There have been no deaths in the last week despite 1900 testing postive for the disease. According to lifesite news, ‘the wide circulation of the drug is said to be responsible for the recoveries’. India Tribune reported that since infected police officers have been given drug, “All the police personnel have recovered”.
The Indian council of Medical Research is recommending the drug to all symptomatic health care workers and first responders as well as “symptomatic household contacts of laboratory confirmed cases”. There have been some who tried to block the use of the drug but the high court in India has allowed the drug to continue to be used.
