William Bradford realized that each person needed to own their own property and benefit from it. William Bradford put in place a free market solution and the end result was greater industriousness. When people owned their own property, they were more likely to want to work hard to grow crops. The end result was greater prosperity. Other colonists who were saddled with the same issues derived from collectivism, employed the same solution and ended up with greater prosperity.
